Our Story

WHERE IT ALL STARTED.

Just for Terra was born out of a lifelong love for exploration and adventure. As a child, my parents would often take me camping, hiking, and sometimes - even if it wasn’t originally part of the itinerary - mountain climbing. From the comfort of my dad’s backpack, I had the best seat in the house - and I didn’t even have to break a sweat!

To my surprise, I was no longer able to fit in his backpack as I grew older, and found myself joining my mum and sister on the track. Initially, this resulted in complaints: “It’s too hard…I can’t make it.”

But when I reached the end of the trail and was met with that one-of-a-kind view - and some chocolates, of course - nothing could beat that sense of achievement.

HOW IT GREW.

Connecting with nature and overcoming what I thought were my limits fueled me to continue pushing myself as I grew older.

I believe the only way to live a fulfilled life is to keep trying new things. Breaking news - these things are usually those we push aside because they’re outside of our comfort zones!

I’m sure you’re wishing I hadn’t said that. However - this is coming from someone who, at 30 years old, quit her comfortable 9-to-5 in Paris and literally flew to the other side of the planet with nothing but her 80L backpack.

That backpack, which was way bigger than I was, was all I had. I had no idea that my life could be compacted to 80L and moved all the way to Australia.

HOW IT CRYSTALLISED

Breaking free of society’s expectations and the material goods I had grown so accustomed to was the best way to hit the ‘reset’ button on my life. This gave me an opportunity to truly get to know myself. Facing your demons while starting over in an atmosphere so far from everything you know doesn’t make for an easy journey. But - even despite the deadly Australian wildlife - I made it.

For a long time, I’d thought about how I could share my story and inspire the adventurer inside of you. I remembered that whenever I wanted to manifest things throughout my life, I had to surround myself with things that reminded me of my goals and spoke to who I was. This is where Just for Terra comes into play: a woman-led, on-demand, community-centred brand here to inspire you to dream, travel, and connect with other like-minded individuals around the world. Just for Terra is more than a brand - it’s a mindset, a lifestyle, and the jumpstart you need to take the road less traveled.

Our products are little reminders that can tag along wherever your journey takes you. They remind us of where we have been and who we are and motivate us to push our boundaries even in moments of doubt. Not only are our products unique, but they were designed with inspiration from places that have inspired my own travels. They are a symbol of living life on your own terms.

OUR PHILOSOPHY FOR MAKING OUR PRODUCTS

As we aim to be increasingly conscious of our environmental impact, we have decided to individually make each of our products on-demand. When products are created on-demand, there are only as many products as there are orders. This helps prevent inventory overflow, with less waste ending up in landfills.

On-demand production also allows for potential changes to designs or production without creating warehouse waste in the process. We are a small team and do our best to prepare and ship orders as efficiently as possible. That being said, with our products being on-demand, please note that there might be occasional delays in production. As we move forward, we hope to continue reducing our carbon footprint and collaborate with partners who are in closer proximity to orders’ final destinations.
